Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons took exception to teammate and safety Malik Hooker calling him out during a recent podcast appearance.

Micah Parsons is eligible for a contract extension after completing year three of his rookie deal. Quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb also need new deals as they head into their contract years, but Dallas owner Jerry Jones clearly doesn’t feel rushed to get those done.

During his appearance on the “All Facts No Brakes with Keyshawn Johnson” podcast with the former NFL wide receiver, Hooker called out Parsons and advised him to focus more on football and less on his podcast:

“My advice for Micah would be: just know we’re all right, and being where your feet are…the run game’s terrible, but you’re doing a podcast every week and you know the run game is terrible, then what are you really caring about? Are you caring about the crowd that’s watching your podcast, or are you caring about the success of our team and the Super Bowl that we’re trying to reach?”

In a tweet that has since been deleted, Parsons called out Hooker and questioned why he didn’t talk to him directly instead of going on the podcast. Parsons pointed out that they’re locker mates and stated that he does his podcast on Cowboys’ off days:

Here’s the clip of Hooker calling out Micah Parsons:

The last thing the Cowboys need is more unnecessary drama in their locker room. Things are tense enough as is for this fanbase as they await news of extensions on any of their star players.

After the team’s playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers, Dallas owner Jerry Jones said they would be “all in” this offseason. So far, the Cowboys have yet to make a single notable free agent splash or blockbuster trade.

And now, we monitor the Micah Parsons-Malik Hooker situation to see if more tension is about to grow in Dallas…

Micah Parsons & Cowboys Open Season vs. Cleveland

The Cowboys will open their 2024 season with a road contest against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 8. Not only is this an enticing showdown between two star-studded teams, but it will also be Tom Brady’s first game in the “NFL on FOX” broadcast booth.

After visiting Cleveland, Dallas will return to Arlington to welcome the New Orleans Saints in their home opener on Sept. 15.
