San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has some big news

San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is one of the most exciting players in the NBA. Making league history several times last season in his rookie year, Wembanyama looks ready for an even bigger season in his second year.

Also one of the most popular players in the NBA, Wembanyama has received several unique opportunities off the court to grow his individual brand.

While most of the Wembanyama news this summer will be related to basketball, it was recently announced that the Spurs star received a Topps Series 2 baseball card for his first pitch before the New York Yankees game on June 20th of last year.

Baseball cards remain incredibly popular among collectors, and this exclusive Wembanyama card is certainly one of the more unique releases Topps has had. In their breakdown of this Series 2 pack, Topps wrote the following on their website:

“Collectors will find the league’s current stars, greats from the past, and rising rookies featured on base cards, inserts, and autograph and relic cards! Hobby Boxes contain 20 packs and deliver 1 autograph or relic card per box! HTA Jumbo Boxes contain 10 packs and deliver 3 hits, including at least 1 autograph card! The 350-card set includes MLB® stars, Rookies, Future Stars, and more.Returning for its 2nd year, Golden Mirror Image Variations will feature all 350 base cards with a new image and a gold foil card back. Chase all 350!”

While it wasn’t a strike, Wembanyama threw his first pitch from the rubber, which not everyone does.
