The Boston Celtics were thrilled to see Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown lead them to their 18th championship. However, Jaylen Brown faced disappointment after their victory when he was left off the Team USA roster for the Paris Olympics. Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum was selected to join the 12-man roster.

The exclusion of Brown and the selection of Tatum sparked some conspiracy theories. On the ‘Underground Lounge’ podcast, Lou Williams expressed his concerns about potential bias or conspiracy against the Celtics stars.

“Is there a conspiracy theory going on against Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown? I really want to know because I’m trying to wrap my head around this whole concept of Jaylen Brown not being on that team. I’m trying to wrap my mind around the league trying to pit them against each other when they’ve never done that to two superstars,” Williams said.

Williams also noted his surprise at Tatum’s limited playing time in the games against Nikola Jokic’s Team Serbia.

“I’ve never seen that. Now you got JT not getting minutes, and I get it; those were Kevin Durant’s minutes. But JT’s put in a body of work where he should be respected as well,” he added.

Richard Jefferson Weighs In on Why Steve Kerr benched Jayson Tatum

On the “Come and Talk 2 Me” podcast, Richard Jefferson shared his thoughts on Team USA head coach Steve Kerr’s decision to bench Jayson Tatum. Jefferson discussed the challenge of managing playing time for a roster full of talented players.

“Look, you can’t play everybody. KD is coming in, and then you see KD go for, what, 22 in the first half. Those are Jayson Tatum’s minutes. And so, I think it’s hard to fill a competitive team if you’re trying to go equal playing time and give all of the superstars 15-18 minutes,” Jefferson said.

Tatum has not played in two of the five U.S. games in Paris. The Celtics star added 2 points and 2 rebounds in the gold medal game.
