After last night’s tough loss in Edmonton, Oilers’ leader Leon Draisaitl showed a new level of frustration in his post-game comments.
The Oilers will face elimination on Saturday in what could be the last hockey game of the playoffs.
Indeed, the Panthers are now one win away from winning the Stanley Cup, and with the way they’ve been playing, it looks like nothing will get in their way.
Paul Maurice and his team have been able to limit the Oilers to only four goals in three games, thanks to some great defensive work from Aleksander Barkov and Gustav Forsling. Sergei Bobrovsky has also been incredible at keeping his team in the lead.
Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, in their 9th and 10th seasons with the Oilers, could see their first run to the Stanley Cup Finals end as soon as Saturday.
After their third loss against the Panthers, Draisaitl wasn’t happy. He looked defeated and frustrated as he made the following comment:
“I pride myself on being good in the playoffs and playing well, just can’t seem to get anything going.”
Leon Draisaitl shows frustration due to struggles against the Florida Panthers
Everyone knows that it’s harder to score in the playoffs, but in the past, Draisaitl has always managed to keep performing. In 70 career games in the playoffs, he scored 105 points, including 41 goals.
This year, in the first three rounds, he had 28 points in 18 games. Against the Panthers, he has nothing.
Now, his back is against the wall, and he’ll need to find a way to score if he wants to help his team come back from the 3-0 deficit.
Do you think Leon Draisaitl will score a goal on Saturday as the Edmonton Oilers face elimination?
