In 2023, Netflix premiered a new series, Quarterback, which followed Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota throughout the 2022-2023 NFL season. However, it appears that players like Travis Kelce won’t be lending their services for the new series.

Due to the series being a hit, it was announced that Netflix ordered Receiver from the team behind Quarterback.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported at the time that the eight-part series would follow several of the league’s best pass catchers, including Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Travis Kelce will not be part of that list.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was on Barstool Sports’ Bussin’ with the Boys when he revealed that Netflix approached him to star in its sequel to Quarterback, Receiver.

Travis Kelce told co-hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan that he had turned it down.

His lack of interest stemmed from his disinterest in reality TV.

“After (Patrick Mahomes) did (Quarterback), I did get asked about it,” he revealed. “I just — I don’t know. I’d rather just play ball, man. I’m already doing enough with the podcast and everything. I’m way over the reality shit, dude. I’m out on that shit.”

Not many realize that Kelce had done reality television before, as he was on Catching Kelce in 2016, which was a dating competition series that lasted just one season.

Kelce attempted to find love with 50 women, all from different states. He also likely hates cameras in his face since he dates Taylor Swift and has become accustomed to the paparazzi tracking his every move.

Travis Kelce Was Previously Blasted By Winner of Catching Kelce

Maya Benberry and Travis Kelce likely have not seen each other since 2016. She was his first public girlfriend after meeting on his 2016 reality show Catching Kelce.

Maya Benberry had a stern warning for Taylor Swift amid the pair’s whirlwind romance: “Once a cheater, always a cheater.”

“Taylor seems like such a fun girl with a beautiful spirit, so I wish her the best of luck, but I wouldn’t be a girls’ girl if I didn’t advise her to be smart!” the Kentucky native told the Daily Mail in September 2023. “I’m sure by now she has mastered the ability to see who is really there for her—and who is just using her.”

She doubled down, separately adding, “I question the genuineness of the relationship because he’s been talking to the media a lot. I feel like Travis is a narcissist.”
