The Boston Celtics are on a determined quest for their 18th championship, and stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are laser-focused on winning the ring. After Game 3, the Celtics still lead the series 3-0.
Throughout the game, Tatum played with relentless energy on both sides of the court to give answers to his critics. One standout moment occurred when Derrick White blocked a scoring attempt by the Mavericks. Seizing the opportunity, Tatum quickly intercepted a pass from Jrue Holiday and scored two crucial points for Boston.
Initially, the Mavericks appeared on their way to an easy victory, opening the first quarter with a commanding 22-9 lead. However, the Celtics were undeterred and mounted a strong comeback.
For the Mavericks, the synergy between Kyrie Irving and WCF MVP Luka Doncic was a highlight. The duo’s effective partnership was fully displayed, with both players making significant contributions. Irving and Tatum were tied for the game lead by halftime, each scoring 20 points.
Chandler Parsons Highlights Double Standards in Jayson Tatum’s Criticism
Since Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Jayson Tatum has drawn considerable attention for his lack of scoring prowess. However, former NBA player Chandler Parsons believes that Tatum wouldn’t face such criticism if he were Luka Doncic or Nikola Jokic.
During his appearance on “Run It Back,” Parsons boldly stated that the NBA community is overly scrutinizing Tatum, even though he contributes significantly to his team’s success.
“If this were Luka, if this were Jokic, we would be praising him for getting his teammates involved, for letting the game come to him. We’re still finding a way to nitpick Jayson Tatum, even though [The Celtics] are dominating this postseason. Leave him alone!” Parsons said.
Both Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum were stellar throughout Game 3. Tatum finished the game with a lead of 31 points, while Brown added 30 points with eight rebounds and eight assists.
The Boston Celtics are just one win away from clinching the championship trophy after 2008.
