Luka Doncic, the star player of the Dallas Mavericks, delivered a strong performance in game 1 of the NBA Finals series against the Boston Celtics. The Slovenian basketball player finished the game with 30 points, one assist, and 10 rebounds during his 38 minutes of play. However, despite Doncic’s outstanding performance, the Mavericks lost the game to the Celtics with a score of 107-89 due to a lack of support from the team.
The 25-year-old Mavericks player has faced numerous injuries throughout his career, yet he always manages to make a strong comeback and dominate his opponents. Recently, a video of Doncic went viral, showing him grabbing at his chest/rib area and grimacing during a Mavericks practice before Game 2. It is unclear whether Doncic was genuinely injured or if he was faking it to create suspense for the fans.
Luka Doncic’s presence will significantly impact the upcoming NBA Finals games. If the injury was real, it would be a major problem for the Mavericks. After a video of him went viral, Doncic’s supporters expressed concerns about their star player’s health. However, a few fans criticized Doncic, saying that he was just faking because of the loss in game 1.
Fans accuse Doncic of faking an injury
One Fan criticized Doncic and said, “Only hurt when he’s losing.“
A second fan praised Doncic and reacted, “There goes Luka, and he wanna-be injuries again. Pretending that he’s injured and then comes out and scores 50 points. I guess that’s how you make heroes.”
A third fan said, “One thing about Luka is when he’s down, he’s gonna be “injured” but let him start heating up and that pain is gone.”
Meanwhile, another fan reacted, “Why does he do this when they lose, but when they’re winning, he’s jumping up and down like a kid on Christmas?”
Recently, another video of Doncic went viral. It showed him playing a prank on the ball boys, leading to fans mocking him for his actions.
Luka Doncic will return to action in Game 2 against the Celtics at TD Garden on Sunday.
