After a frenetic start to game two of the Stanley Cup Finals, Edmonton’s Warren Foegele is done for the game after a brutal hit.

The Edmonton Oilers almost face a must-win situation in game two of the Stanley Cup Finals, but unfortunately they’ve started the game in the worst way possible. With the game locked at 0, Warren Foegele was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct for this hit on Florida’s Eetu Luostarinen;

The play was reviewed, but after only a few seconds, the officials confirmed their original decision, with Luostarinen limping off the ice following the kneeing penalty.

It’s unclear at this point whether the Panthers forward will return to the game, but on first look, it appears he may have suffered a brutal injury. The Panthers would surrender their 5-on-4 advantage with a penalty of their own, leading the Oilers to their first goal of the Stanley Cup Finals, so now we wait and see whether or not the Panthers can bounce back without a key forward.
