Dr. Umar bizarrely names LeBron James’ son Bronny James’ interest in white women as reason for not supporting Los Angeles Lakers rookie

In about a week’s time, Bronny James will step on the floor as an NBA player. More importantly, he will be donning the Los Angeles Lakers jersey after they selected him with the 55th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. It will not be unnatural for a lot of media and fans to watch the Summer League games. LeBron James‘ son carries that fame. However, Dr. Umar has made it clear he will not watch the 19-year-old play for a bizarre reason.

The social media personality and school psychologist took to social media to talk about why he would not be watching the rookie play. He revealed his reason by saying:

I will watch Bronny James play when he drops the snow bunny. I don’t support black men who date out their race. So, until Bronny James stops bunny hopping, I can’t do it. I’m happy for him and his father, though. If Bronny James stops bunny hopping, if he doesn’t stop bunny hopping, I can’t support that. No snow bunnies, no sand bunnies, no salsa bunnies.

This is a bizarre reason for not wanting to watch the former USC star play basketball. Rather, it seems Dr. Umar will be more interested if James Jr. has a relationship with a black woman.

Bronny James has been in a relationship with Peyton Gelfuso for some time. She was with him for his High School prom and also when he was hospitalized after suffering a cardiac arrest. Dr. Umar is looking past these reasons and instead just focusing on her race.

Dr. Umar has also been critical of the late Kobe Bryant‘s wife Vanessa Bryant. He wanted her to use the money the Los Angeles Lakers great made during his NBA and business career for the benefit of the black community.

Bronny James will first play in the California Summer League

Bronny James has been the talk of the NBA world ever since he declared for the Draft. The one and done star wanted to take his chances after struggling at USC and now is a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. However, as most rookies have to do, he will be playing his first minutes as a Laker in the upcoming Summer League games.

Those games will take place over 4 days and will be played in San Francisco and Sacramento. It will be a good set of games to see where he stands among other rookies and also try to get a feel for how the NBA game could be. Most importantly, they will be playing with the NBA ball, which will require getting used to before the regular season starts.

James will be donning the No. 9 jersey he selected. Expect him and fellow rookie Dalton Knecht to join other participants to ball out. Dr. Umar might not be there to watch him, but he sure will have Peyton Gelfuso and LeBron James cheering him from the sidelines.
