It appears as though Don Waddell and GM Eric Tulsky of the Columbus Blue Jackets have just hinted that a Patrik Laine trade is only days away.

Former GM of the Blue Jackets Don Waddell has just endorsed Eric Tulsky to be the team’s new GM, and mentioned at the same time that they were very close to finalizing a trade.

There were no details regarding the player involved, however all of the latest rumors have involved Patrik Laine. Now that he is no longer in the NHLPA’s Player Assistance program, it’s expected he is going to be traded shortly.

Waddell also endorsed Tulsky, who took over as general manager.
“Eric’s the brains,” Waddell said. “He’s way smarter than I’ll ever dream about being. … I have no doubt he’ll do a great job. We’re trying to make a trade right now, so…”

More details will emerge as soon as we receive information about the players involved. However, based on Waddell’s comments, we can confidently say that the potential Laine trade might happen much sooner than expected.

Patrik Laine had only 6 goals and 9 points in 18 games played with Columbus last season, in what people would say was the worst of his career.

Many fans continue to support Laine, arguing that he still has the potential to be an elite player in the NHL. They believe his natural scoring ability, powerful shot, and unique playmaking skills make him an invaluable asset to any team.

Despite some inconsistencies, these fans emphasize his past successes and the potential for him to regain top form with the right support and environment.
