The Edmonton Oilers have officially named the controversial Stan Bowman as their new general manager.

According to Elliotte Friedman, a press conference will be held later today to announce that tan Bowman is eligible to come back in the NHL following the Kyle Beach scandal and that he joins the Oilers organization as general manager.

The Oilers CEO, Jeff Jackson, made the following declaration in the organization’s official press release:

“I am excited and pleased to be welcoming Stan to the Edmonton Oilers,” said Jeff Jackson, Oilers CEO of Hockey Operations. “I believe his vast experience and proven success in this role, together with the important work he has done in his time away from the game, fits our goal of being best in class when it comes to all facets of our organization. Through our many conversations, we share a common vision of where we are as a team and what is required to achieve another Stanley Cup title.”

Now that Stan Bowman found his way back to the NHL, many people are wondering if the same thing will happen soon with Joel Quenneville. They both remain great at their jobs, despite everything that happened. Many teams are likely to show interest in him. If not this summer, it could be during the season or in the 2025 summer.
