The Edmonton Oilers may have had more shots than the Florida Panthers last night, but Sergei Bobrovsky stole the game.

Instead of taking accountability for the embarrassing loss, Connor McDavid chose to throw out the Edmonton Oilers’ game six win over the Dallas Stars last series, where they had only 12 shots and were by far and away the inferior team.

Just as Sergei Bobrovsky shut things down last night, Stuart Skinner was phenomenal in that game, and McDavid accepted that the Oilers did not deserve to win that game.

“Maybe it was the hockey gods getting us back for that Game 6. You know where we probably didn’t deserve to win.”

“Tonight maybe we deserved at least one goal, maybe two goals, and we don’t find a way to get them,”

“I know this group will stick with it, bounce back, that’s what we take a lot of pride in doing. We’ll gear up for a big one on Monday.”

McDavid still seems confident that he’ll be able to turn the series around, and that the Edmonton Oilers will have a big game Monday night — we will see if he can actually follow through.
