Team USA concluded their Paris Olympics journey with a gold medal, capping off a successful run with their star-studded roster. American sprinter Noah Lyles also made headlines by winning gold, but his recent trash talk, particularly in discussions involving NBA players like Anthony Edwards, has sparked controversy.

Their ongoing trash-talking has caught the eye of former NBA star Carmelo Anthony. On the “7PM in Brooklyn” podcast, Melo expressed frustration with the public feuding between Edwards and Lyles.

The reason why we call ourselves world champs over here, to what I said earlier, this is our game. The world comes to us to get the game. So, yes, we are the world champs. Semantics, I understand,” Melo said.

The former NBA star pointed at the desire for unity. He claimed that athletes should address other issues rather than focusing on criticisms of the NBA.
