Tonight a report from a Boston Bruins reporter named Steve Conroy has indicated that Linus Ullmark is being traded to the Ottawa Senators.

Hearing deal with Ottawa for Ullmark is going down. We’ll see on the return

This is a move that has been rumored for a couple of weeks since the Boston Bruins were eliminated and now seems to be happening. As of now the official trade or return has not been revealed. A post on X from Spittin Chiclets personality Mike Grinnell has leaked that Bruins fans might not be happy with the return.

Hearing the return for Ullmark STINKS

The return for Linus Ullmark heading to the Ottawa Senators has now been confirmed and many fans are indeed underwhelmed. The Ottawa Senators will receive Linus Ullmark while the Boston Bruins take back Joonas Korpisalo, Mark Kastelic, and also get pick 25 in this weekend’s 2024 NHL Draft.

There are also reports confirming that Linus Ullmark has not agreed to an extension as part of the trade to the Ottawa Senators which means he will be entering the final year of his deal.

No extension as part of the trade.

Instant analysis of this trade has many people calling it a fleece in the favor of the Ottawa Senators. Giving up a pick in the 20s in a weaker draft class than recent years is good asset management. Also getting the Bruins to take back a bad contract in Joonas Korpisalo was incredibly unexpected.

Now both teams will work to rebuild their rosters heading into the 2024-25 NHL season. It will be interesting to see if the Bruins plan to keep Joonas Korpisalo as a backup or find another partner to ship him off to in the future.
