The San Francisco 49ers’ star wide receiver reunited with his former teammate Jayden Daniels from Arizona State and the two have been spending quite some time together lately amidst the ongoing trade rumors. However, as much as Brandon Aiyuk enjoys playing with the Washington Commanders rookie, his first priority remains the 49ers.

For the past couple of months, there has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding Aiyuk’s contract situation at the Niners, as both parties have not been able to reach a common conclusion. Given, that the receiver seeks one of the highest-paid deals, however, the franchise has offered him way below his standards.

Regardless of the indifference, if given a choice Aiyuk to pick his desired team, he would pick the Niners over everyone, as he told a TMZ reporter when asked whether he sees himself wearing the 49ers’ uniform next year, on his way out at LAX. “For sure,” replied Aiyuk.

During his recent appearance on The Pivot podcast, the wideout talked about his future at the 49ers elaborately and said the 49ers remain his priority.

I have a vision for what I see myself as. If I were to take a guess, probably a Niner uniform. If not a Niners uniform, probably a Washington Commanders uniform. If not a Washington Commanders uniform, probably a Steelers uniform.

Brandon Aiyuk said

Although the 49ers’ No. 2 receiver isn’t willing to accept a compromising deal, he believes he is at the right place in his career with the right quarterback as he gave a nod to Brock Purdy.

Brandon Aiyuk making progress in contract negotiations

Contrary to his previous claim that the Niners do not want him back, Aiyuk recently asserted that the contract talk is going in the right direction and labeled the discussion as “good,” as reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The franchise previously explored the trade option with the Commanders but after Aiyuk’s claim that they don’t want him back on social media, they decided to continue with contract negotiation with him.

Social media is a way for me and my team to leverage myself and what I'm trying to get because that's the way to get the message out there and get the facts out there.

Brandon Aiyuk said regarding his claim on social media, during the podcast

Aiyuk has entered the final year of his contract with the Niners and is set to earn $14.1 million in 2024. He seeks a deserving contract extension from the Niners to know that he is valued so that he can put his best efforts into proving that he is.
