Not every NBA superstar enjoys the spotlight, and Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic is certainly one of them. Jokic, known for his reluctance to engage with the media, has maintained this stance throughout the Paris Olympics by refusing to speak to reporters.

After leading Serbia to a thrilling 95-90 overtime victory against Australia, Jokic again declined to address the media. His Serbian teammate, Bogdan Bogdanovic, recently shed some light on Jokic’s reasons for staying silent.

He’s great, but he only likes to talk to me, you know that. In the NBA, if he doesn’t talk to the media, he’ll get fined. But here (in the Olympics), there are no fines. So he says, ‘I don’t need to.’ No offense to you guys,” Bogdanovic said.

Jokic’s decision to avoid the media has sparked curiosity, but it’s clear if he is taking advantage of the more relaxed media rules at the Olympics compared to the NBA. Without the threat of fines, Jokic feels no obligation to speak publicly, preferring instead to focus on his performance and personal interactions.

Nikola Jokic’s Team Stages Epic Comeback To Eliminate Australia In Overtime Thriller

Team Serbia pulled off a stunning comeback to eliminate Australia from the Paris Olympics with a 95-90 overtime victory. After being down by 24 points in the second quarter, Serbia fought back, with Nikola Jokic leading the charge.

Jokic was the hero of the night, recording 21 points, 14 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals. He also proved his all-round game, shooting 9 of 18 from the field.

Despite the loss, Australia had standout performances from Patty Mills and Josh Giddey. Mills scored 26 points on 11 of 21 shooting, while Giddey contributed 25 points and 5 rebounds, making 11 of 20 shots.

With this win, Serbia now advances to face Team USA in the semifinals. This matchup is crucial for Serbia, as they have already lost to Team USA twice—once in an exhibition game and again in the group stage. The upcoming game will test Serbia’s resolve and ability to overcome their previous defeats.
