The story behind the Oilers fan cheering for the Panthers has been discovered after the fan went viral after a camera caught her cheering a Panthers goal despite wearing Oilers gear.
Many fans were obviously confused by her behavior. There was immediate speculation as to why she appeared to contradict herself. One theory was that she had money on a bet. Given the goal came so late in the period, perhaps she had a bet on over 1.5 Panthers goals in the period?
This was a popular idea, but as it turns out, that is not the case at all. The fan in question is in fact, a Panthers fan who happens to live in Regina. According to the story from Facebook, her sister, who is an Oilers fan, invited her to the game but stipulated that she had to wear Oilers gear.
Turns out the famous Oilers fan who cheered for the Panthers goal is actually a Panthers fan. She lives in Canada in Regina. Her sister got her tickets but said if you’re coming you have to wear an Oilers’ sweater. 😅

Fans were not too unsurprised to hear this. After all, forcing someone else to wear sports gear of a team they are not a fan of is not exactly a foreign concept. It is quite a common punishment for a lost bet for example. However, this does not make the situation any less funny, as fans saw the humor in it all.
explains it. I thought it was hilarious 😂
Mystery solved, she was a Panthers fan in Oilers clothing 🤣😅
