Jada Pinkett Smith – Will Smith’s wife – revealed that Chris Rock actively flirted with her but failed before the 2022 Oscars.

Jada Pinkett Smith will release her memoir Worthy on October 17, revealing many untold stories about her life.

 In an interview with People magazine published on October 12, the actress answered many questions about her relationship with Chris Rock before and after the noise at the 2022 Oscars.

Chris Rock once flirted with Jada Pinkett Smith but was rejected

The most shocking revelation in the book Worthy is that Chris Rock once texted Jada Pinkett Smith to ask her out on a date when there were rumors that she and her husband were about to divorce.

 The actress told People: “Every summer, there’s always news that Will and I are getting divorced.

And one time, Chris Rock thought we were really going to break up.

So he called and asked me out.” went out. I asked him again what he meant. He said it wasn’t like my husband and I were getting divorced.

I denied it and emphasized that it was just rumors. The real Chris Rock shocked. He kept apologizing and everything stopped there.”

Chris Rock’s representative did not respond to the information given by Jada Pinkett Smith.

Chris Rock flirted with Jada Pinkett Smith in the past but failed.

The conflict between Jada Pinkett Smith and Chris Rock first became known to the public in 2016.

At that time, a movement calling for a boycott of the Oscars broke out because it believed that Academy members prioritize white people. 

Jada voiced her support because she believed that this was also the reason her husband did not receive a nomination for his role in Concussion . 

She also called on Chris Rock – the 2016 Oscar MC – to quit his job to stand on the side of the black community. 

The comedian then did not follow suit but satirized Jada right on stage with his opening speech.

Thinking back on the noise of the past, Jada Pinkett Smith believes that she was not subtle because Chris Rock was certainly under a lot of pressure at that time.

 She said she regretted not directly talking to the comedian before publicly calling on him to quit. 

The actor shared with People: “At that time, I probably should have called and asked him.

And even though I frankly expressed my opinion about Oscar, I still wished Chris Rock the best and wished him the best.”
