This Morning’s Alison Hammond was left stunned after she faced a savage dig from TV regular Martin Lewis.

The 49-year-old host had been introducing the Money Saving Expert to the programme when he unexpectedly told her he was purposely staying away from the studio in a bid to avoid her. A little taken back by his snub, Alison shot back: “That’s not very nice.”

It all became a bit awkward in the studio as co-star Joel Dommett, 39, began to squirm in his seat, not knowing how to respond. By this point, Martin, who is a regular on the programme and knows Alison well, knew he’d probably crossed a line.

Pleading for forgiveness, he offered his co-star a “cuddle” as a means of moving forward. Instead of accepting his peace offering, Alison, who clearly felt insulted, chimed back: “You can keep your cuddles after that.”

It all proved to be in good spirits though as the former Big Brother star drew a line in the sand as the segment came to a close. She told Martin: “I will be giving you a hug when I next see you, whether you like it or not.”

Alison and the finance guru were reunited after they were plunged into chaos together last week, following a series of technical issues while they were live on-air.

They were supposed to be hosting a phone-in with members of the public calling in with their financial woes in hope that Martin could be able to provide assistance.

However, they were plagued with a number of issues that they couldn’t seem to get passed. Firstly, Martin attempted to connect via a link from his home but was off-centre on the screen.

It all became apparent that things weren’t going to plan. Dermot O’Leary confessed: “We don’t have any communication of who you’re going to be speaking to.”

He added: “We’ll be speaking to Eileen.” As he then asked: “Do we have Eileen?” before telling fans: “Sadly, not no.”

Grabbing the device, Alison said: “Let’s have a look, the phone in… on air… Tina.” Dermot responded: “Nope, that’s yesterday, her sister isn’t coming to her wedding.”

Realising Martin was waiting patiently on-screen for something to happen, the Birmingham-host intervened, she said: “We haven’t got anything on our screen yet. How are you anyway bubs?”

Martin, knowing he had crossed a line, tried to make amends by offering Alison a hug. However, Alison was not having it and told him to keep his cuddles. Despite the awkwardness, the two eventually made up, with Alison jokingly telling Martin that she would hug him whether he liked it or not.

Their previous on-air chaos was also mentioned, with technical issues interrupting their phone-in segment. From Martin being off-centre on the screen to not having any communication on who they were speaking to, it was clear that things were not going smoothly.
