Love Island ’s Amber and Harley shared the first kiss of the series when they cuddled up under the covers just a few hours after meeting.

But already Amber is having second thoughts about embarking on anything serious with Harley as she doesn’t want to limit her options too early into the show.

Kem embarks on what he calls Operation Amber tonight, after deciding Amber is the girl for him right now, even though he’s currently coupled up with Chloe , who just so happens to be his best friend’s ex.

“Chloe’s a nice girl,” says Kem. “Obviously I think she knows that we’re just mates. At the end of the day, I’ve got to think about myself. Basically I do like Amber, she’s a nice girl, so I set up an Operation, I’ve got my best detectives in.

“I feel like Harley’s going to get really angry.

“I’m nervous. He’s big as well. Very big.”

Amber, meanwhile, feels the same way but is worried she’ll look like a “b*tch” if she swaps Harley for Kem so soon.

But fears over Harley being bigger than him doesn’t stop Kem planting a kiss on Amber during the first challenge of the series, which requires islanders to snog the person they was the answer to a certain question.

It perhaps wasn’t the best move as Harley begins to feel suspicious of Kem’s intentions.

So Kem decides the best course of action is to approach Harley directly and have a chat, man to man, to explain he doesn’t fancy Chloe and would like to crack on with Amber.

“We obviously all came in here a day ago,” starts Kem. “We’ve all got to know each other. At the end of the day, I’m with a girl that I’m not interested in.

I have got to think of who and if there’s anyone in here that I am genuinely attracted to, and for me I can see who I’ve got an attraction with. It is Amber.”

Harley tells Kem he already suspected Kem fancied Amber and he doesn’t really care if things develop between them, although he does point out Amber’s still the girl he’s most attracted to.

Kem, however, reckons Harley is lying about not being bothered.

“Even though he’s said he’s not annoyed, he’s fuming. Harley’s fuming,” says Kem in the Beach Hut.

“I felt bad. At the end of the day I had to tell him. I do think he really likes her but, do you know what, I am really excited to get to know her. This is heating up now. I am excited.”

But Harley isn’t going to give up Amber without a fight, so Kem better be prepared.

“I do feel like I’ve almost lost Amber already but I’m not going to give up now,” says Harley. “Kem’s put his feelings out there. Tomorrow’s a new day. I had an idea that Kem specifically wanted to talk to Amber. It’s only fair that Kem has his opportunity.”

Kem gets that opportunity later on when he manages to corner Amber for a chat and tells her he liked kissing her during the challenge.

“I’m getting shy,” replies Amber. “But I like it. Your personality for me is like ‘put a ring on my finger tomorrow.”

Amber likes Kem so much she decides to tell Harley things won’t progress to romance between them as the “humour and banter” is missing in their relationship.
