‘Her look is kind of wonderful,’ the 72-year-old Oscar and Grammy Award winning artist said of the 21-year-old pop star in an interview with People.

Barbra also differs from Miley in another crucial respect: her lack of social media fluency. 

‘I have Twitter, but I don’t know how to do it. I think I’m probably from another time,’ The Way We Were hitmaker admitted.

She also spoke of her admiration for actress and singer Liza Minelli.

They were at the home of fashion designer Donna Karan one evening when ‘Liza got up in the middle of the room to sing, and I thought, “How the hell does she do that?”‘ Barbra said.

‘I was never that type of person – I don’t even sing at home! I can’t sing when I can see people. I get spooked.’

She added: ‘[Singing]’s not about performing. I like it when it’s just me and my music. I don’t have to be charming or funny.’

Such a confession comes as Barbra debuted her 34th studio album on Tuesday, which according to Billboard, may hit No. 1.

If her new album does achieve that status, it will make her the first artist with No. 1s in each of the past six decades.

It would be Barbra’s tenth No. 1 album and make her the female artist with the most No 1. albums.

With 32 albums having already made the top ten, the Funny Girl star would tie with Frank Sinatra for most top 10 albums in the U.S. – behind only the Rolling Stones.

Partners is a collection of duets the legendary singer recorded with the likes of John Legend, Michael Buble, Blake Shelton, John Mayer, Andrea Bocelli, Stevie Wonder, and Josh Groban.

Shelton, 38, gushed about their collaboration.

‘She couldn’t have been more humble or appreciative,’ he said. ‘She sent me a piece of crystal that was like, “Thank you, Love Barbra.”

‘I pushed all my awards away [at home] and put that in the middle.’
