Adele demanded that she keep Sylvester Stallone’s prized poolside Rocky statue when she purchased his $58 million mansion in Los Angeles.

Adele refused to let Sylvester Stallone keep his Rocky statue after buying his house. Stallone rose from relative obscurity when he starred in 1976’s Rocky as the titular hard-nosed club fighter from Philadelphia who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot at the world heavyweight championship.

Over the years, Stallone returned to his career-defining role as Rocky Balboa a total of seven times, including in the Creed spinoff films.

However, for the first time in the Rocky franchise’s history, Stallone did not reprise his role in Creed III.

During a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal for his new reality show The Family Stallone, the Rocky actor revealed an odd celebrity interaction he had with Adele.

The 16-time Grammy winner bought his $58 million mansion in Los Angeles last year and as part of the purchase, Adele wanted Stallone’s poolside Rocky statue despite his initial intention to keep it.

The English singer-songwriter even threatened to blow up the deal if the statue wasn’t included.

In the end, Adele got the statue and is currently renovating the house. Read what Stallone shared below:

She said, “That’s a no deal. That’s gonna blow the whole deal.” She wanted the statue. I like what she’s doing, she’s making it gorgeous.

Sylvester Stallone’s Old House Isn’t Home To The Only Rocky Statue

Though Stallone lost his prized poolside Rocky statue while selling his home to Adele, it isn’t the only sculpture in existence honoring his larger-than-life boxer.

There’s the more well-known Rocky statue located at the bottom of the stairs to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which the character famously climbs in the film. Over the years, the statue has been moved a number of times around the museum.

The bronze statue of the fictional boxer was erected in 1980 for a scene in Rocky III and after filming was complete, Stallone donated it to the city of Philadelphia. It remains a popular tourist attraction that also represents the spirit of the city.

Since Stallone lost his prized possession to Adele, he can still visit the Rocky statue in Philadelphia, which he frequently does.

Just last year, he visited the landmark with his daughter, Sophia, and later that year, Stallone reunited with the Rocky statue with his entire family, sharing photos and videos on social media.

The Rocky statue does not only immortalize the exemplary underdog who rose to the ultimate challenge, but Stallone’s life which mirrors that of his iconic character. While Adele now owns a bit of that history, the Rocky statue in Philadelphia remains.
