He openly confessed to facing some initial challenges, recalling how, during his first attempt, he delivered the words with a deep, almost monotonous growl.

“I had done quite a few takes and most of them were ‘This is Sparta,’” Butler said. “And it’s part process and part insecurity, maybe. And I go, ‘Can I just try another?’”
In the subsequent take, Butler unleashed a resounding scream, giving birth to the now-legendary line. Surprisingly, his fellow cast members’ reactions didn’t align with his expectations, but Snyder stepped in to offer reassuring words, affirming Butler’s powerful performance.
