Reacher showrunner Nick Santora teases more details about season 3. In its recently concluded second installment, Reacher season 2 focused on Alan Ritchson’s titular character teaming up with Frances Neagley (Maria Sten), Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan), and David O’Donnell (Shaun Sipos) to uncover why friends from their past are all being murdered.

The violent mystery is solved by the Reacher season 2 finale, with the bloodied protagonist getting on the bus to his next destination. However, it won’t be long before another conspiracy will have to be thwarted.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Santora shed some light on what can be expected from the already-renewed Reacher season 3. Santora, who adapted Lee Child’s books for the Prime Video series, teased that the lead character will lean into the traits that viewers enjoy. Read the full quote below:

What To Know About Reacher Season 3

Reacher season 3 will be based on Persuader, the seventh book in the Lee Child series. The synopsis for the novel highlights Jack’s chance encounter with an old adversary that leaves him obsessed with revenge and desperate to settle an old score. This leads the main character to infiltrate a criminal organization, quickly rising in the ranks to achieve his goal and get even with an enemy.

The synopsis for Reacher season 3, which is currently filming, is much the same. It reveals that the titular character has to go undercover to rescue an informant who’s held captive by a haunting foe from his past.

Frances Neagley (Maria Sten) will return in Reacher season 3, marking a big change from the source material. In the novels, Neagley appears in Without Fail, Bad Luck and Trouble, Night School, and The Affair. She’s mentioned in Never Go Back, though she does not appear in Persuader.

It’s not yet known whether Sten will be a recurring or regular cast member. It’s also unknown what function she’ll play in the story.

However, Santora’s update does clarify that Reacher season 3 will go back to highlighting the main character’s sleuthing abilities after that aspect was largely absent in the more action-filled second installment.
