Hollywood legend Nicolas Cage is known to be as eccentric off-screen as the characters he plays on screen.
He had been known to recount the wildest stories, for example, being stalked by a Mime, waking up to a na*ed man eating a fudge sickle at the foot of his bed, almost purchasing a ‘bat cave’ for years.

Not only that, but he also blew away his $150 million fortune trying to purchase rare art, a two-headed snake, castles and even getting into a bidding fight with Leonardo DiCaprio to purchase a smuggled Tyrannosaurus skull that he eventually had to return.
As a result, nothing really shocks people anymore when it comes to the Leaving Las Vegas star. And now, in classic Nicolas Cage fashion, in a recent interview he talked about the earliest memories of his life, and, well, the netizens have things to say about that quite predictably.

Nicolas Cage’s extremely vibrant life
From wild tales to wilder roles, Nicolas Cage has proven himself to be a masterful storyteller, in over 4 decades of his acting career. He not only has the wildest stories about his life in-store among everyone but also chooses the most interesting characters to play onscreen. Even though those characters might not always warranty an interesting movie, his performance had always been stellar granting him an almost cult-like fanbase.

He had masterfully explored every genre of acting from horror to comedy and even drama, which granted him his Best Actor Academy Award for Leaving Las Vegas. Although the last few years were a little slow for him on the acting side as he chose to focus more on his family, now he is back more forcefully than ever.

With Renfield released in theaters last month, Sympathy for the Devil looming closer with a July release date, and more movies coming next year, he is the talk of the town everywhere. However, that’s not the only reason he is being talked about these days. In a recent interview with Stephen Colbert, he revealed his earliest memories of taking the internet by storm.
Nicolas Cage remembers being in his mother’s womb
Appearing in a recent episode of Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show, Nicolas Cage talked about his career and life, and even shared ideas about what happens after death. Answering Colbert’s questionnaire on the topic of the earliest memories in his life, he answered that his memories might as well go back to his mother’s womb. He explained,
“Let me think. Listen, I know this sounds really far out and I don’t know if it’s real or not, but sometimes I think I can go all the way back to in-utero and feeling like I could see faces in the dark or something.”

Cage also noted that he is aware of how “powerfully abstract” that sounds, but somehow it seems to him like it could have happened. He further elaborated that now that he is,
“No longer in utero, I would have to imagine it was perhaps vocal vibrations resonating through to me at that stage. That’s going way back. I don’t know. That comes to mind… I don’t even know if I remember being in utero, but that thought has crossed my mind.”
Well, his comment even with his explanations did not go over quite smoothly with the internet. And Twitterati, predictably took this opportunity to express their thoughts on this matter, in fact, quite hilariously to be fair.
True story: I went to school with a dude who said this was his earliest memory. Now I firmly believe he was on high on something.

Although the reception of his comments went exactly as people thought it would, it only added more to his charm for his fans. Not only that, but it also gave people a lot to talk about while waiting for his Sympathy for the Devil to be released later this year.
