A live-action version of He-Man played by Reacher star Alan Ritchson gets imagined in detailed art of the actor playing the fantasy hero’s role.
SUMMARY
Actor Alan Ritchson’s muscular physique makes him a convincing choice for a live-action He-Man .
Fan art imagines Ritchson as He-Man, showcasing his resemblance to the iconic character.
Ritchson’s experience as an action star suggests he could portray He-Man more effectively than previous actors.
Reacher star Alan Ritchson becomes a live-action version of He-Man from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in convincing fan art. The actor is well-known for his muscular physique, a defining trait of Jack Reacher reflected in his dedication to bulking up for the character. On the other side of the coin is He-Man, whose own large muscles have been a key design trait since the 1980s.
Now, @samukarts has created an image that casts Ritchson as He-Man in a Masters of the Universe live-action reboot.
The poster shows the actor made to look like the classic cartoon character, sporting his familiar chest plate and sword. Given the level of detail in the art, it makes a convincing case for Ritchson to star as the superhuman hero.
Alan Ritchson Would Be A Perfect Live-Action He-Man
He-Man is no stranger to being portrayed in live-action, having been played by Dolph Lundgren in 1987’s Masters of the Universe movie. Since then, however, attempts at making another movie starring the hero haven’t panned out. In February, it was announced that Travis Knight, best known as the CEO of stop-motion animation studio Laika, was in talks to direct a new, possibly live-action movie in the franchise.
As demonstrated by @samukarts’ art, Ritchson has the physique to portray the character since his large muscles from Reacher are perfect for the role. He’s also proven himself a charismatic actor in roles from Blue Mountain State to Fast X. Because of these qualities, he could make a convincing casting choice for He-Man in a live-action remake, beyond just how physically powerful he is.
While the casting for a He-Man and the Masters of the Universe remake shouldn’t be based on the actor’s physical appearance alone, Ritchson’s career indicates he would be a perfect choice for the role. As an action star, he already has the experience he needs to convincingly portray the hero. If he really were to appear in the role someday, he might be able to bring a better portrayal than Lundgren did in the ’80s.
