Fans of the John Wick series can look forward to a new anime project while they wait for the fifth film installment.
SUMMARY
The anime series, which will be a spin-off, aims to bring together the world of cinema and TV and explore the characters in depth.
Many fans are excited about the possibility of seeing a more violent version of the iconic pencil scene from the series.
Fans also have a request for the anime studio MAPPA to handle the production, as they have a reputation for delivering high-quality shows.
Fans of John Wick shouldn’t be sad as the fifth installment in the series has been put on hold until Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves have a new story to bring.
Well, that doesn’t mean the series will be sitting still, as there’s a lot more that’s not been explored yet. The filmmaker has revealed that a John Wick anime project is in the making, and it seems it could be a TV series.
Keanu Reeves in a still from the John Wick franchise
Of course, there’s the recent prequel series dubbed The Continental, but Chad Stahelski wasn’t involved in it. Instead, he shared that he will be actively participating in a different and independent John Wick spin-off TV series.
The new series aims to bring cinema and TV together, adding a layer of action and delving deeper into the characters of the John Wick universe.
Fans Want Ultra Violent Version Of The Pencil Scene
Who can forget the epic scene where Keanu Reeves’ John Wick kills three men in a bar with a pencil? Keanu Reeves, known for his commitment approach to performing most of his stunts, insisted on bringing this scene to life. He was determined to include the pencil scene in the second film. Now, fans want to see the same scene done in a more violent way in the anime series.

Oh, which studio got the rights? WiT (Attack on Titan 1-3) Unfotable (Fate and Demon Blade) Studio Trigger (Cyberpunk, BNA, Kill la Kill)?

The pencil episode was mentioned for the first time in the initial film, where Russian mafia boss Viggo Tarasov tells his son that John Wick is the one people send when they want to “kill the f***ing boogeyman” and that he once witnessed the guy “kill three men in a bar with a pencil.”
John Wick
After Reeves insisted on adding the scene in the second film, Stahelski took charge and executed a sequence where John Wick kills assassins with a pencil at the entrance to a subway station. The scene is one of the most iconic scenes in the whole franchise.
Fans Want Mappa To Take Charge Of John Wick Anime
Fans also have another request for the John Wick. They want the anime studio MAPPA to take over the production of the upcoming series and create moments that anime fans will remember for years to come.
MAPPA is known for handling series that were originally created by other studios. The studio has made sure that the quality remains the same, if not better, and the continuity doesn’t get affected.
Whether creating a new show from scratch or taking over after multiple seasons have already been developed, MAPPA has consistently managed to provide fans with memorable experiences.
Attack On Titan
Established in 2011 by producer Masao Maruyama, MAPPA is the same studio that handled the final season of Attack On Titan. The show stands as one of the most favorite shows among anime enthusiasts.
Attack On Titan was originally produced by Wit Studio, and the series’ final season was handled by MAPPA. The final installment takes forward the narrative of Eren Yeager and other characters, where the conflict between humans and titans continues to grow, bringing forward challenging scenarios.
