BTS footage of one of 300’s key scenes shows the reality of the effect of visual effects
Zack Snyder is one of the most well-known directors in Hollywood right now, for better or for worse. After all, while Snyder has shown he is proficient when it comes to directing a certain kind of film, he has also received his fair share of criticism. That said, his film 300 is still regarded as one of his best films to date.
Zack Snyder has been often called a ‘hack’ for his portrayal of films and overly fixating on unnecessary themes and biblical imagery, which was most apparent in the DCEU film Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Zack Snyder Has Directed An Interesting Choice Of Films In His Career
Zack Snyder made his directorial debut with the 2004 film Dawn of The Dead, which was a remake of the 1978 classic of the same name. He then followed it up with the highly successful 300, which essentially put him on the map and made him known to people all over the world.
His take on Watchmen in 2009 also remains a divisive yet important part of his filmography. That said, it was from his 2013 film Man of Steel that fans were acquainted with how Zack Snyder really is – for better or worse.
His reputation took a hit largely thanks to Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, but had a redemption arc thanks to his own version of Justice League in 2021, a four-hour epic that was far superior to the 2017 version.
BTS Footage Of One Of 300’s Most Iconic Scenes Had Rodrigo Santoro Talking To A Screwdriver
Zack Snyder’s 300 was based on the graphic novel of the same name and it truly made people realize Snyder’s talents.
The film, starring Gerard Butler as Leonidas and Rodrigo Santoro as Xerxes, truly surpassed all expectations thanks to the film’s focus on bombastic and stylistic action and snappy dialogues.

The film had a lot of visual effects to enhance everything, especially the overly manly characters and settings.
As revealed by a hilarious behind-the-scenes video from the movie, Rodrigo Santoro could be seen speaking directly to a screwdriver, in a scene featuring Xerxes speaking to Leonidas in the film. Naturally, fans had a good laugh realizing how this film was originally made.
Zack Snyder’s influence in the world of cinema will never be forgotten, even if he gets undermined due to his bizarre choices at times. Regardless, it remains to be seen what is next in store for the veteran director.
