Alan Ritchson’s Reacher moves closer to Batman following this interesting update in season 3.

“He’s going to be incredibly smart”: Reacher Season 3 Has an Exciting Update for Alan Ritchson That’s Very Close to Becoming Batman Himself

SUMMARY

With Reacher 3 on the cards, the showrunner assures one exciting aspect about Reacher will be back in the new season.
Interestingly, this aspect would bring Reacher more in line with Batman, further strengthening Alan Ritchson’s case to be the next caped crusader.
While time will tell whether Ritchson will get to don the cape or not, fans can hope for more Reacher says the showrunner.

Getting the lead in Reacher didn’t come easy for Alan Ritchson, as he had to punch his way through to secure the gig, which Tom Cruise previously played on the big screen.

Not only did Ritchson prove to be a better incarnation of the intimidating brute from Lee Child’s books, but his performance in the role has garnered him some buzz to become DCU’s new Batman. Although it can’t be said for certain if Ritchson will land the gig of Batman or not, for now, fans can be happy to witness more Reacher in the future.

Set to be based on Lee Child’s seventh book in the series, Reacher 3 will finally be bringing one interesting aspect about the character back that was largely missing in the second season.

Reacher Season 3 Is Set to Bring the Sleuthing Aspect of the Character Back

Unlike the first season, the sleuthing aspect of Jack Reacher was largely missing in the second season. And per Reacher Boss Nick Santora, this will not be the case for season 3, stressing that apart from giving others a hard time physically, Reacher will also be incredibly smart in figuring out things. He told THR:

“I can tell you Reacher is going to kick the cr-p out of people; he’s going to be incredibly smart and deductive in figuring things out; he’s going to be a hero and he is going to help save the day! He’s going to be Jack Reacher.”

Interestingly, having Alan Ritchson‘s Reacher be deductive in solving things is not too far from Batman, and if things play out well, season 3 could pave the way for Ritchson’s Caped Crusader.

Showrunner Hopes Alan Ritchson’s Reacher Lasts for Four Seasons

While the casting for DCU’s Batman is still a long way ahead, as the DCU is just getting started, fans can hope for some more Reacher in the foreseeable future.

With Season 3 potentially set to mark its debut late this year or early 2025, Santora stressed his want to have at least four seasons. Following his experience in shows such as Scorpion, which ran for four years, Santora expressed that he wishes the same for Reacher as well, as he explained how it differs from his previous works.

“It [Reacher] is a darker and more viscerally violent show, because it is streaming and we can show more. Where it’s similar is that Prison Break was four years, Scorpion was four years. And I hope Reacher is at least four years.”
