But this time it is not him but his $500 million action trilogy that is in the news. Yes, we are talking about the Paris Has Fallen series which is soon getting adapted into a television series, with multiple spin-offs already in plan.
Paris Has Fallen to Get a Television Series
The second installment of the trilogy, Paris Has Fallen will soon be turned into a television series, with a spinoff storyline.
A step away from the original storyline, it will have its own original story within the larger universe of the Has Fallen trilogy. As reported by Deadline, the shooting is set to begin in Paris and London, on May 30th, 2023.

The Gerard Butler franchise spinoff is set to begin shooting soon. It will be co-produced by UrbanMyth Films, StudioCanal as well as the franchise producer, Millenium Media, and Gerard Butler‘s G-Base. It is already being written by Howard Overman, the BAFTA-winning Misfits series creator, and will be directed by Oded Ruskin.
Paris Has Fallen series will be starring the French actor and director Mathieu Kassovitz, best known for Le Bureau des Légendes, in the lead role. The other cast members are yet to be confirmed as the casting process is still ongoing.
While Gerard Butler would not be starring in the series, fans hope that his character, Mike Banning, a US Secret Service agent might make an appearance. Furthermore, the fourth installment of the Has Fallen franchise, Night Has Fallen, is in the works as well.

Mathieu Kassovitz will be starring as Vincent, who is a French Minister’s protection officer. Vincent would be working with an MI6 operative named Zara to protect the politician from a terrorist group, headed by Jacob.
Vincent and Zara would later uncover that a colleague from the security service is a mole, providing valuable security information to Jacob. The story revolves around how Vincent and Zara work together to keep Paris safe.
