Ster**d use isn’t just confined to bodybuilding and other sports; it’s a well-known secret in Hollywood too. However, when celebrities deny it, it can rub some people the wrong way. Recently, a celebrity trainer, Don Saladino, known for coaching the likes of Ryan Reynolds, expressed his frustration. He opened up about Allan Ritchson’s reluctance to come clean about his alleged TRT use.
During an episode of the Renaissance Periodization podcast, exercise scientist Dr. Mike Israetel and fitness expert Don Saladino delved into the reality of steroid use in Tinseltown. The conversation took a fiery turn when the topic of Allan Ritchson came up.
Don Saladino unveils unrealistic Hollywood standards
In the video, the trainer didn’t hold back, stating, that Don Saladino was listening to Alan Ritchson talk in an interview. Ritchson was explaining and claimed that he got super-jacked by training really hard for nine months. “But he’s (Alan Ritchson) sitting there, claiming he trained so hard that he drained himself of testosterone. That’s what frustrates me,” confessed the celebrity trainer.
The trainer’s frustration stemmed from the lack of honesty in Ritchson’s confession. He questioned whether Ritchson had exhausted all natural avenues before resorting to performance-enhancing substances. Furthermore, he criticized the actor for not owning up to it, especially when confronted directly.
The trainer highlighted the unrealistic standards set by some actors in Hollywood, citing examples like the movie “300” where the physiques portrayed were far from natural. Saladino unveils the illusion created by lighting, makeup, and camera angles.
“Look at the movie 300—it was total BS. They wouldn’t stand a chance in a natural physique competition.” “Sometimes the actors I think go a little overboard,” he asserted. He emphasized the importance of honesty, especially for the impressionable young fans who might idolize these celebrities.
Kenny Koo claims Ritchson is not Natty
Fitness enthusiast Kenneth Boulet, aka Kenny Koo, doubts Alan Ritchson’s claim of getting super-jacked without external help. Ritchson said he gained 30 pounds in eight months by working out at home. But Koo didn’t believe his claims. Instead, he thinks Ritchson might be using performance-enhancing drugs to help him, “Bro, you’re just not natty,” Koo remarked.
Ritchson says he only started using testosterone after the first season. But Koo isn’t convinced. ” No, I’m not a doctor, but I don’t think you beat the testosterone out of yourself… So, he says he didn’t take testosterone until after. This is the worst of the fake natty,” said Koo. Despite Ritchson admitting to using testosterone, Koo isn’t convinced he’s telling the whole truth.
Both fitness experts advocated for transparency and responsibility, urging celebrities like Allan Ritchson to “own it” rather than perpetuate unrealistic expectations. Do you also believe that he has been lying, as these experts have pointed out his lack of honesty about it? Let us know in the comments below.
