The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare has finally confirmed its UK release date after coming out in the US earlier this year.

Guy Ritchie’s new movie, starring Henry Cavill and Alan Ritchson, will skip cinemas in the UK and debut exclusively on Prime Video on Thursday, July 25.

It’ll be available to watch for all Prime Video subscribers. If you’re not signed up to the streaming service, you can sign up from £5.99 per month or to the full Amazon Prime service for £8.99 per month and get a 30-day free trial.

Inspired by true events, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare tells the story of the first-ever special forces organisation formed during World War II by UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a group of military officials, including Ian Fleming.

The combat unit head out on a daring mission against the Nazis using unconventional fighting techniques, with their approach ultimately changing the course of the war and laying the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.

As well as Cavill and Ritchson, the movie also stars Eiza González, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Henry Golding, Babs Olusanmokun, Henrique Zaga, Til Schweiger and Cary Elwes.

When it was released earlier this year, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare debuted with a fresh 82% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s dipped to a still-fresh 70%, in line with Ritchie’s first Sherlock Holmes movie.

The movie was released in US cinemas in April and on digital platforms in the US in May, so it’s been a long wait for UK fans.

At least now the wait is almost over and there’s only a month to wait.
