Last night (July 18), Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo have joined jazz champion Kamasi Washington live on stage at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA, for a live rendition of “My Friend of Misery.””My Friend of Misery” was originally released on Metallica’s monumental 1991 record “Black Album.” You can check out the record’s upcoming anniversary box-set edition here via Amazon.

Washington’s cover of the track is one of more than 50 songs included on Metallica’s massive new covers compilation called “The Metallica Blacklist,” which features artists’ takes on “Black Album” songs.
