Not everybody wants to have the fame that the “Hawk Tuah” girl has gotten.
TikTok user Annie is not happy over ESPN cameramen using their precious time to seek her and her friend out just to watch them eat ice cream during the College World Series in Omaha earlier this week.
Every year, ESPN cameramen hunt for fans in the stands during the College World Series to broadcast to millions of people across the country.
TikTok user Annie saw her face blowing up on social media, and she was not happy about it, especially since she was well aware that it might happen and was doing everything she could to ensure she wouldn’t be shown.
“When ESPN puts you on full blast (with commentary) during the men’s College World Series,” Annie said in a caption on her video posted to TikTok.
The video went viral, but in the worst way. She received numerous dirty comments on the video, likening her to the now-infamous Hailey Welch, better known as Hawk Tuah Girl.
Annie continued in another TikTok as she called out ESPN: “It was a 20-second segment of just us licking our ice cream,” Annie said. “Twenty seconds dedicated to – with commentary – just us eating our ice cream. We all knew what direction that video was gonna head in. And low and behold, the creeps of TikTok got a hold of it because we woke up getting compared to the Hawk Tuah girl. No shade to her, girl, do whatever.”
The upset young lady was shown during the game between Texas A&M and Tennessee, and as you can see, they are simply trying to cool down from the blistering heat and eat some ice cream.
Now, they are online, trying to defend themselves from becoming the Hawk Tuah girl.
Not Everybody Wants To Be The Hawk Tuah Girl
As we can see with TikTok Annie, not everybody is set to be able to handle fifteen minutes of fame.
Haliey Welch gained national attention for an infamous street interview that earned her the moniker ‘Hawk Tuah girl.’
In an interview with creators Tim & Dee TV, Welch was asked: ‘What’s one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?’
Her response turned social media upside down as she gave birth to a new phrase while saying she would ‘spit on that thang.’
Page Six was the first to report that United Talent Agency signed her after the viral video.
