Miami Dolphins star WR Tyreek Hill is dealing with a concerning injury as the 2024 season gets closer.
The Dolphins are proceeding with caution with their star receiver amid his preseason injury concern.
He didn’t catch any passes during today’s session.
ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe referred to Hill’s injury as “minor,” noting that head coach Mike McDaniel has exuded action with many of Miami’s injured players.
Tyreek Hill did not participate in either of the Dolphins’ first two preseason games, and it appears he won’t be taking any snaps before the start of the regular season.
This week, the Miami Dolphins will hold a joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before completing their preseason against the Bucs on Friday.
At this point in training camp, the Dolphins will proceed with caution regarding Hill since his health is way more important for the actual season when the games actually count in the standings.
The Dolphins are trying to keep the good times rolling to get back to the postseason again, but this time, they would love to actually have a longer run than just one game as they have had the past few years.
Tyreek Hill Will Likely Have to Put His Rivalry With Noah Lyles On Hold
Even though Tyreek Hill is dealing with a right-hand injury, his impending rivalry with Noah Lyles will have to be put on the back burner as the team would not like him to compete in any races that have nothing to do with football.
Hill is serious about racing Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles in a 50-yard dash as he officially and publicly threw down the gauntlet on social media on Sunday.
“Sign the contract and lock in that 50-yard race,” Hill wrote.
This back-and-forth between the athletes began when Hill said he could beat Lyles in a race.
“I would beat Noah Lyles,” Hill said on the “Up and Adams” show last week. “I wouldn’t beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles.”
He also questioned Lyles’ sickness when he won bronze in the men’s 200-meter race after testing positive for COVID.
Lyles said Tyreek Hill is “just chasing clout” and challenged him to back up his claims.
For now, the team wants him to focus on his health and not a race.
