Olympic Breakdancer Raygun, Who Has Been Trending For All The Wrong Reasons, Is Being Considered For A Surprising New Job

Australian breakdancer Rachael Gunn, better known as “Raygun,” is reportedly close to landing a new gig.
The 36-year-old, who went viral at the 2024 Olympic Games for what could be described as a comical routine, will not have an opportunity to redeem herself as breakdancing will not be part of the games in Los Angeles when 2028 rolls around. However, she could have a chance to get back in front of an audience nonetheless.
According to New Idea Magazine, the lecturer is being considered for a spot as a contestant for the Australian reality TV competition ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
The show, which is similar to America’s ‘Survivor,’ drops celebrities at a campsite and has them compete against each other.
“Raygun would be the ideal campmate,” a magazine insider declared.
“The public will want to hear her story in the jungle. Love her or loathe her, she has everyone talking. It’s these viral moments and water- cooler conversations that ‘I’m A Celebrity’ will want to capitalize on, and they won’t want to miss out on a casting moment like this.”
Raygun Has Defended Her Olympic Performance Amid Rife Jeers And Criticism
Raygun was the butt of jokes after breakdancing debuted at the Olympics earlier this month, having put on an odd routine that saw her mimicking animals indigenous to her homeland. But she has handled the criticism well.
“All my moves are original,” she said.
“Creativity is really important to me. I go out there and I show my artistry. Sometimes it speaks to the judges and sometimes it doesn’t. I do my thing and it represents art. That is what it is about.”
While the performer’s Olympic outing did not go down well, it’s gotten her enough attention to open other doors.
