Angel Reese did not come to play when she attended a high-profile event on Monday night.
WNBA star Angel Reese was among many athletes and a-listers who hit the red carpet at Monday night’s Met Gala, including tennis stars Serena and Venus Williams, Ben Simmons, Lewis Hamilton, and NBA legend Dwyane Wade.
Reese’s dress had a translucent layer underneath a feathery miniskirt and a plunging neckline with sequins all over it.
The rising WNBA star, who came into the league as a millionaire, attended the fashionable event in New York City, wearing a custom dress by British label 16Arlington.
Reese, a former standout athlete from LSU, was also celebrating her 22nd birthday on that night. Angel Reese is getting ready to start her rookie season with the Sky, so she decided to attend the event. Last week, Reese made her preseason debut against the Minnesota Lynx with 13 points and nine rebounds.
“I’m just excited to see everyone’s outfits. Everyone looks amazing in here. Being here on my 22nd birthday is amazing,” Reese told WWD while leaving The Mark Hotel ahead of the event.
According to Vogue, this year’s Gala theme is “Garden of Time,” celebrating the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s newest exhibit, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”
Angel Reese Was Thankful Her Jersey Sold Out After She Was Drafted

In their brief professional careers, Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky and Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever have both taken off. Soon after Clark was picked in the WNBA Draft, her jersey ran out almost instantly, and it didn’t even take a week for Reese’s jerseys to run out.
In a post last month, Reese took to X to thank fans for their overwhelming support of her by purchasing her jersey.
Since Reese and Clark were the two most well-known players in college basketball, it was just a matter of time until their gear became popular. It is not surprising that there was insufficient supply to satisfy the initial demand.
The Sky begin their season on May 15 against the Dallas Wings.
