Oddities Museum in Denmark Acquires Toilet Shaped Like Metallica's Lars Ulrich

The Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! museum in Denmark has recently acquired a toilet shaped like Metallica’s drummer Lars Ulrich, sculpted by a visual artist from Tampa, Florida, as reported by Blabbermouth.

The sculptor, also a heavy metal musician known as Prince Midnight, donated the item to Ripley Entertainment, which will place it on permanent display at its venue in Copenhagen.

The artist has also defended his creation against fans who deemed it insulting, by saying:

“This toilet was built by a Metallica superfan. They wrote the first songs that meant something to me. I could have done a urinal with (frontman) James (Hetfield) but that’s not where the creative spirit was leading me.”

“I could have painted a picture or made a traditional sculpture, but no one would have even noticed, and really, that’s not the kind of art and performance I do. The first band I ever loved was Metallica. I even went to see them a couple of years ago with Lamb of God, so the passion hasn’t waned.”

Prince Midnight chose Ulrich as a model as he’s the one who is usually sitting at the band’s performances. Bassist Rob Trujillo has reacted to the art piece approvingly, by saying:

“Oh my god! You’re kidding. This is incredible, how come I didn’t see this? This is a work of art. I want one. Where can I buy ’em?… I’m sure (Lars will) hear about this when I see him.”
