Metallica’s iconic 1986 song “Master Of Puppets” has been getting a lot of attention lately.

As reported by Loudwire, “Master Of Puppets” had garnered 17.5 million streams in the last week since the final episodes of “Stranger Things” aired on July 1st, and now 36 years its release, it just entered Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for the first time ever. They have had a total of 16 singles land on the Billboard Hot 100, but none of them ever topped that chart.

“Master Of Puppets” isn’t the only song released over 35 years ago to have recently been on the charts on the strength of “Stranger Things”.

Kate Bush’s 1985 single “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” has been continuously climbing charts and going viral on TikTok as a result of the show as well.

“Master Of Puppets” was originally released as the sole single from the iconic album of the same title but – despite being one of the band’s most famous and popular songs, frequently played at concerts – it had never appeared anywhere on the charts…until recently!
