Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky lost to the Las Vegas Aces, 95-83, Thursday night at home but the rookie was still able to make some pretty cool WNBA history with yet another double-double.

The former LSU star, who was the No. 7 in last April’s WNBA draft, finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds. It was her ninth straight double-double, which tied her with Candace Parker for most consecutive double-doubles in a season and also made her the youngest player in league history to rack up nine straight double-doubles. Reese’s best game during this stretch came last Sunday when she had 25 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

Reese will look to make more history on Sunday when the Sky host the Minnesota Lynx at 3 p.m. ET.

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese notched her ninth consecutive double-double on Thursday evening against the Las Vegas Aces, becoming the youngest player in WNBA history to ever reach that mark and tying Candace Parker as the only other player to accomplish the feat in a single season.

Reese finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds in a 95-83 home loss to the Aces. She has averaged 15.8 points and 12.9 rebounds since the double-double streak began on June 4 versus the New York Liberty.

Reese, the former LSU star who led the Tigers to the 2023 national championship, has put up some great performances of late. She grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds in just 29 minutes on June 20 against the Dallas Wings in a 83-72 win.

Reese then followed that up with a career-high 25 points (alongside 16 boards) in leading the Sky from 12 points down with six-and-a-half minutes left in the fourth quarter to defeat the Indiana Fever 88-87 last Sunday.

She’s been nothing short of sensational for the Sky. And now she has an opportunity to break Parker’s single-season consecutive double-double record Sunday when Chicago hosts the Minnesota Lynx at 3 p.m. ET.
