Fans were not impressed when they came across a shirtless photo of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson after it surfaced online this week.

Wilson, who joined the Steelers earlier in the offseason via a trade from the Denver Broncos, appears to be doing some boxing as he looks to stay in shape for his upcoming make-or-break campaign.

A photo of the quarterback and Dominican boxer Elvis Rodriguez is making the rounds online, with Dov Kleiman’s X/Twitter account talking it up.

“Russell Wilson looks JACKED for this upcoming season with the Steelers,” the account captioned the image.

The comments indicate fans did not agree.

You can see some of their reactions below:

Russell Wilson Is No Stranger To Boxing

Russell Wilson posted the above photo, along with some others, to Instagram before it was shared by Kleiman.

The veteran QB also revealed having started boxing in 2018 before stopping after the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020.

“Back in the Ring,” he wrote. “Started in 2018 through 2020. Had some of my best years. Then COVID hit in 2020 and couldn’t go back in. Good to see my guys again @FreddyRoach & @MarvinSomodio #QuickFeetHeavyHands.”

The IG comments were not as harsh as the ones on X/Twitter. Elon Musk’s platform is a tough place…

“Minor setback for a major comeback, let’s get it, Russ!!” one user remarked.

“The separation is in the preparation! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽That’s My Quarterback!” said another.

“Bout to knock future ahh out😂😂😂😂,” a fan joked

“Kinda feels like we’re gonna get prime Seahawks version of Russ!” someone else wrote.

Russell ended up in Pittsburgh on the back of two underwhelming seasons with the Broncos. While his stats were decent, the team failed to make the playoffs both years. He will hope for a better spell with the Steelers.
