The 2024 NBA Draft week saw a host of college basketball talents in New York City. While most of them made a name for themselves thanks to their NBA drafting, one talent made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Jeremiah Davenport was the culprit in this case, as he was arrested by police due to illegal possession of firearms.

According to Police reports, a black BMW X5 was parked on the northwest corner of Nagel Avenue and West 204th Street. The windows were tinted, and a hint of smoke was coming out. Police examined the scene and asked for identification proof, which Davenport and another unidentified man with him failed to produce.

The officer on the spot then saw a loaded firearm in the backseat, and the duo were swiftly taken to custody. Davenport was then prosecuted and charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of an ammo feed device, and tinted windows.

The college basketball guard was later released and and is yet to comment on the matter.

How Was Jeremiah’s College Basketball Career

Jeremiah Davenport set the court on fire every time he appeared in his Cincinnati Bearcats jersey with his stunning 3-pointer shots. During his four seasons with the college basketball team, he accumulated 1,060 points.

Davenport impressed everyone by grabbing an average of 5.5 rebounds per game in his junior year. Because of his offensive abilities, he also aced the scoreboard many times, showing his brilliance at both ends of the court.

His basketball career took a turn when he moved to the University of Arkansas after the 2022-2023 season. In his 31 appearances for the college basketball team, Davenport scored an average of 5 points, and his rebounds dropped to 1.8 in every game.
