Indiana Fever’s star rookie Caitlin Clark had a major injury scare on Monday during their 84-79 win over the Atlanta Dream at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Clark had a slow start to the game but found her offensive rhythm in the second half.
She scored her first points with a 3-pointer in the first quarter before playing smothering defense on Allisha Gray. Later in the period, the rookie exited the game after rolling her ankle but returned in the second quarter. At halftime, Clark had eight points, four rebounds, three assists and one block.
The former Iowa superstar seemed revitalized after the break. The one-time WNBA All-Star quickly racked up points, helping the Fever extend their lead. Clark rediscovered her touch from beyond the arc and drove into the paint with dazzling dribbles to score easy layups.
