Caitlin Clark’s Superstar Teammate Seemingly Took A Nasty Low Blow Shot At Angel Reese After Fever-Sky Game

The rivalry between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese dates back to last year, when the latter led the LSU Tigers to a national championship victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes. Reese taunted Clark in that game by performing John Cena’s “You can’t see me” gesture, which Clark had used on an opponent earlier in the tournament.
There’s still no love lost between Reese and Clark. In their June 1 meeting, Reese made headlines by celebrating hard when teammate Chennedy Carter delivered an unnecessary shoulder check to Clark after making a two-point basket.
Indiana got sweet revenge yet again by defeating Chicago 91-83. After the game, Clark’s teammate Kelsey Mitchell came to her defense by seemingly taking a shot at Angel Reese post-game, per Glenn Guilbeau of OutKick:
“I’m happy I’m a part of the solution and not the problem. So, hey, here’s to women’s basketball and other great sports that we have on the women’s side.”
As Guilbeau noted, that may have been a shot at Reese, who picked up a flagrant foul for hitting Caitlin Clark across the head during a basket attempt:
Clark had another excellent outing with 23 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and a pair of blocks. As for Reese, she had 11 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block in the 91-83 loss.
With the win on Sunday, the Fever are now 2-0 against their rivals. The two teams will meet again in Chicago this Sunday in a contest that will air on ESPN at 4:00 p.m. EST.
Angel Reese Is Having A Superb Rookie Season
While many folks are simply focusing on Reese’s rivalry with Clark, the LSU legend is putting together a strong rookie year that paints a promising future in Windy City. Through her first 13 games, Reese has averaged 12.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
Reese and the Sky will look to rebound from Sunday’s loss to Indiana when they host the Dallas Wings on Thursday.
