The postponement of the much-anticipated fight between heavyweight legend Mike Tyson and influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul has come under scrutiny from UFC legend Brendan Schaub.

Originally scheduled for July 20 at the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Texas, the fight has been delayed due to Tyson needing to recover from an ulcer flare-up before resuming training.

Jake Paul’s reaction to the postponement of the Mike Tyson fight

Despite the controversial nature of the bout, it is being professionally sanctioned whenever it eventually takes place.

In light of Tyson’s withdrawal, Jake Paul’s brother, Logan, humorously offered to step in to ensure the main event of the card doesn’t fall apart.

“So, Mike Tyson’s out? I’ll step in and we can settle this once and for all,” Logan posted on Twitter.

Schaub, however, suspects a premeditated plan by the Paul brothers to eventually fight each other.

“Years ago, when I had Logan on, he said the ultimate plan – this ends with me and my brother fighting,” Schaub shared on his podcast.

“Here’s a question. Put my tinfoil hat on. Was this the plan all along? Here’s another question for you guys. What gets more – Mike Tyson versus Jake Paul or Jake Paul versus Logan Paul?”

What is the bigger draw?

Schaub further analyzed the potential viewership, suggesting that a fight between the Paul brothers might attract a larger audience than a bout featuring Tyson.

“I’m not saying on YouTube, on Netflix. Because if you take Mike Tyson out of that fight, my dad’s not watching it,” he continued.

“My dad’s not watching Logan Paul. But a ton of youngsters who vape and are confused about their pronouns are gonna tune in.

“What do I think gets more views overall? Jake Paul versus Logan Paul, because you’re going to get their fanbases, which is bigger than Mike Tyson’s.”

Despite the postponement, Tyson has insisted that he is in good health and plans to resume training in a few weeks. Jake Paul, showing respect and class, refrained from criticizing Tyson after the cancellation.

“This opportunity has been ripped from all of us, but I do value Mike’s health,” Jake Paul said.
