Jada Pinkett Smith has been accused of being narcissistic and exploitative of Will Smith after revealing that the two have been separated for seven years, as well as stories surrounding the slap incident at the 2022 Oscars.

However, Jada stressed that divorce is not on the table: “We have done some really heavy work together. We have a deep love for each other and we will figure out what that looks like for both of us.”

The actress, born in 1971, also mentioned this information in an interview with Hoda Kotb on NBC News , scheduled to air on October 13. According to the trailer, Jada shared that there were many things that caused the rift in their relationship.

“I think by the time we got to 2016, we were exhausted from trying. I think we were both still stuck in this fantasy of what we thought the other person should be like,” the beauty explained.

Jada added that the two still try to keep the promise they made to each other forever on their wedding day 26 years ago. That’s why they haven’t divorced despite being apart for many years.

When asked why she never told Will Smith the truth about the nature of her marriage, Jada said that they both felt they weren’t ready. They were trying to figure out how to balance their relationship and how to present it to people.

Regarding the infamous slap at the 2022 Oscars, Jada confirmed to People that she, like the rest of the world, was taken aback by her husband’s actions. She thought it was a staged joke until the Men In Black actor returned to his seat with an annoyed expression. Even though she didn’t understand what was happening, she turned to ask: “Are you okay?”

According to Jada, Chris apologized to her for making fun of his bald head due to alopecia. “Chris came down the stage and tried to apologize to me. He said, ‘I didn’t mean to hurt you.’ I said, ‘I can’t talk about this right now, Chris. This is old news,’” she said, revealing that she hasn’t spoken to the comedian since.

The African Queens producer also told for the first time that Chris Rock once intended to flirt with her after ending his 18-year marriage to Malaak Compton-Rock in 2014 and showbiz is buzzing with rumors that the Smith couple is about to “go their separate ways”.
