Pat McAfee has only just escaped the wrath of basketball fans after daring to use a derogatory comment to describe Caitlin Clark, now he could face more heat from WWE fans.

The 37-year-old talk show host was forced to apologize for calling Clark a “white b****” on Tuesday, revealing that the 22-year-old WNBA star had accepted his apology.

But just hours later, he went back to using a similar phrase during the WWE ‘Monday Night Raw’ broadcast when referring to WWE wrestler Braun Strowman.

Strowman, whom McAfee has reportedly called “one big son of a bitch” in the past, walked towards the ring wearing a shirt containing that nickname, to which McAfee said: “That’s one big white son of a b****.”

Quite what motivated McAfee to risk adding more fuel to the fire is anyone’ guess, but he has already been forced into a corner over his controversial remarks about Clark.

What did Pat McAfee call Caitlin Clark?

McAfee opened his self-titled show with a presentation about the WNBA’s rookie class and how Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WBNA Draft, stands above her fellow stars Angel Reese, Cameron Brink and Kamilla Cardoso.

Eventually, after several minutes of dancing around the topic, he claimed Clark had essentially raised the profile of women’s basketball on her own through her record-breaking stint with the Iowa Hawkeyes, and referred to the Fever rookie as a “white b****”.

Some 24 hours later, McAfee had attracted criticism from basketball fans demanding he apologize and he admitted that he was wrong to call her by such a term.

“Obviously that’s a massive f***-up on my end. I apologize for that. I did reach out to Caitlin Clark through the Fever [public relations team], sent an apology and then got a message back that she said it was all good. No blood. We move forward,” McAfee said on Tuesday.

“And she appreciates us reaching out and apologizing. So that obviously makes me feel a little bit better. But to the people that got p****d off yesterday and offended, I understand. I learned a lot.”
