Jujutsu Kaisen has been one of the biggest shows since it began airing. Based on a manga by Gege Akutami, the series has grown in acclaim as one of the best recent shōnen shows. Whether it’s fighting Geto or chilling out with friends, the students and faculty at Jujutsu High have brought laughs, tears, and gasps. As the series continues, Yuji and the gang show no signs of slowing down.
Jujutsu Kaisen has a number of great female characters and, perhaps, some of the best written in comparison to similar shōnen anime. Some might even claim them as their waifus. Not every girl has to be an unstoppable curse fighter with incredible abilities; some of the greatest women in this show are merely known for their roles in the stories of other characters’ lives. Whatever the case, Jujutsu Kaisen offers a handful of women who have fans impressed.
Updated on June 29th by Robbie Robinson: As more of Jujutsu Kaisen continues to be animated, fans get to meet more and more characters. There’s no shortage of cool and beautiful women in this series, that’s for sure. This list has been updated to add more well-known JJK women as well as to get this list up to current CBR formatting standards.
Warning: Spoilers ahead.

14Tsumiki Fushiguro Is Megumi’s Older Sister
Grade N/A
First Appearance
Episode 5, “Fearsome Wound, Part 2”
JPN VA
Saori Hayami
ENG VA
Suzie Yeung
Tsumiki is Megumi’s older step-sister, her mother having married Toji Fushiguro. She has always loved Megumi and was a rather doting older sister, though she made sure to reprimand him when necessary. She was picked as an unwilling participant for the Culling Games, however, and was chosen to be the host for Yorozu.
While not much beats the trope of a good older sister, Tsumiki comes in last place on this ranked list. Not much is seen of her outside of being Yorozu’s host and the other girls on this list are better known. That being said, she still deserves a place here for her role in the story.
13Akari Nitta Is Tokyo Jujutsu High’s Reliable Assistant
Auxiliary Manager
First Appearance
Episode 22, “The Origin of Obedience”
JPN VA
Sora Tokui
ENG VA
Sarah Anne Williams
There isn’t much to say about Miss Nitta as far as the Jujutsu Kaisen anime goes. She drops off Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi for their mission in the last arc of the first season. According to the manga, she is diligent and works hard as an assistant at Tokyo’s Jujutsu Tech.
Nitta graduated from Kyoto’s Jujutsu Tech years ago and aspired to be an assistant. She is in the field to keep an eye on her brother Arata, who is a first-year at the Kyoto school. With such a caring big sister personality, fans could certainly latch onto her.
12Manami Suda Is An Elegant Beauty
Curse User
First Appearance
Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie
JPN VA
Shizuka Ito
ENG VA
Laura Post
All fans of anime can appreciate a character with pink hair. While Yuji might be the first character in this series that comes to mind, there’s also Manami. Manami’s light pink hair and sleek attire give her a cool, but down-to-business look. Manami was the all-powerful Geto’s secretary and one of his commanders.
During the Shibuya Incident Arc, Manami was ordered to remain by Sukuna despite Kusakabe telling them to retreat from the onslaught of Maximum: Meteor. It was initially unknown if she made it out alive or not, but it has since been confirmed that she didn’t make it out alive.
11Nobuko Takada Is the Idol Girl of Everyone’s Dreams
Idol
First Appearance
Episode 8, “Boring”
JPN VA
Tomoyo Kurosawa
ENG VA
Laura Post
Nobuko isn’t known for her combat prowess or unique abilities because she’s not a fighter; she’s an idol. Idols are known for their cutesy appearances and personalities and Nobuko is exactly that. She’s often referred to as “Tall Idol Takada-chan” because of her above-average height for a woman, but she’s still amazingly cute with her get-up and twintails hairstyle.
Most anime fans can rally behind pretty idols, even if they’re not stars of the show. Nobuko is the very disliked Aoi Toda’s “oshi” — a term that refers to someone’s favorite idol that they will back and support no matter the cost. Nobuko is fun, playful, and sweet. It’s even hinted that Mai Zenin has something of a crush on her.
10Yuki Tsukumo Is a Powerful Woman
Special Grade
First Appearance
Episode 20, “Nonstandard”
JPN VA
Noriko Hidaka
ENG VA
Anjali Kunapaneni
Yuki is as cool as she looks. She rides a motorcycle and chooses to follow her own preferred path when going after curses. Yuki is bold and self-assured; her lifestyle perfectly represents her attitude and how she chooses to get things done. She’s not particularly ladylike and it suits her very well.
She’s one of four special grade jujutsu sorcerers. Because of that, Yuki is certainly one of the most powerful sorcerers. Even before much of her abilities were known, she was granted the title of special grade. While she’s not technically a teacher in the sense of Jujutsu High, Yuki has also shown herself to be a more than capable instructor for students.
9Momo Nishiyama Is Not Your Average Witch
Semi-Grade 2
First Appearance
Episode 14, “Kyoto Sister School Goodwill Event – Team Battle, Part 0”
JPN VA
Rie Kugimiya
ENG VA
Tara Sands
A third-year student at Kyoto’s Jujutsu Tech, Momo Nishiyama is formidable and can be seen flying through the air on a broomstick. Momo brings out Kiki’s Delivery Service vibes with her witch aesthetic. She is concerned about how women are treated in the Jujutsu world and feels she must work much harder than her male counterparts.
Momo is likely the least appealing character among the Kyoto group, however. She is judgemental and beyond her witch vibes and rivalry with Nobara (which almost saw her lose), there’s not much to her.
8Fans Wanted To See More of Nagi Yoshino
Grade N/A
First Appearance
Episode 11, “Narrow-Minded”
JPN VA
Junko Noda
ENG VA
Amber Lee Connors
Ah, yes. Junpei’s mom. Fans didn’t get to spend much time with her before her demise, but Nagi came across as a caring parent to her son. She was perfectly okay with Junpei skipping school, proving her to be extremely laid back.
Nagi would even drink alcohol right in front of her son and was a fun drunk. Her death was the catalyst for Junpei learning his curse powers, and who can blame him? Nagi Yoshino’s death was a sad moment in an arc filled with them.
7Mai Zenin Is Crude, Rude, and Has An Attitude
Grade 3
First Appearance
Episode 8, “Boring”
JPN VA
Marina Inoue
ENG VA
Laura Post
Mai Zenin attends Kyoto’s Jujutsu Technical High School and is part of the Zenin clan. Mai is crass and acts poorly toward everyone around her because she is forced to live in the Zenin clan. When Maki left the clan, she was devastated because Maki broke her promise to stick together.
Mai’s backstory and Maki’s broken promise make Mai look sympathetic to some fans. Her crudeness and straightforward approach are also points in her favor. She is a capable fighter despite her low cursed energy.
6Utahime Iori Is A Cool Tsundere Miko
Semi-Grade 1
First Appearance
Episode 14, “Kyoto Sister School Goodwill Event – Team Battle, Part 0”
JPN VA
Yoko Hikasa
ENG VA
Tara Sands
A woman with tsundere tendencies, this professor from Kyoto’s Jujutsu Technical High School is a competent sorcerer. She is beloved by her students and is usually cool, calm, and collected. Professor Iori usually wears a miko, or Shinto priestess, outfit and can be found with a beer in her hand.
Fans can totally get behind a shrine maiden who loves to drink alcohol on a regular basis. Utahime can have a quick temper when it comes to Gojo and is devoted to protecting her students at Kyoto’s Jujutsu Tech.
5Cash and Profit Rule Mei Mei’s Every Decision
Grade 1
First Appearance
Episode 17, “Kyoto Sister School Goodwill Event – Team Battle, Part 3”
JPN VA
Kotono Mitsuishi
ENG VA
Amber Lee Connors
One word comes to mind when discussing Mei Mei from Jujutsu Kaisen: Boss! Mei Mei is a woman who knows what she wants and knows how to manipulate anyone to get it. Some might see this as conniving, but others see it as a sign of strength. Based on her looks and power, it’s no surprise Mei Mei takes number five on this list.
Mei Mei believes that the most important thing in the world is money. She got paid a whole lot of it to look into the mole at Kyoto’s Jujutsu Tech. One of Gojo’s peers, this is a woman nobody should want to cross. Fans can’t wait to see more from Mei Mei, especially considering she’s certainly a very clever sorcerer.
4Maki Zenin Is A Strong Leader In Glasses
Grade 4
First Appearance
Episode 5, “Fearsome Womb, Part 2”
JPN VA
Mikako Komatsu
ENG VA
Allegra Clark
Maki is headstrong and has a chip on her shoulder from not having any cursed energy. Being headstrong is a strength for her, though, as she trains Megumi and Nobara to stand toe to toe with their seniors at the Kyoto Jujutsu school. She is a strong leader and well respected at Tokyo Jujutsu Tech.
Maki is an underdog who is striving to be accepted by her family. Her mission is admirable and fans could really latch onto her as a source of inspiration and strength. While much of her story still has yet to be animated, Maki proves herself to be quite the talented fighter with powerful techniques.
3Shoko Ieiri Is the Curse Remover Extraordinaire
Grade 1
First Appearance
Episode 5, “Fearsome Wound, Part 2”
JPN VA
Aya Endō
ENG VA
Ryan Bartley
Shoko is the resident nurse at Tokyo Jujutsu Technical High School. She has the ability to remove any curse. This ability has become increasingly useful. She even brought Yuji back to life. Fans were also delighted to get to see her history with Gojo back in her youth.
Fans can get behind being taken care of by an alluring nurse character. Medical support from someone as kind and caring as Shoko is never a bad thing. Fans tend to gravitate toward nurse characters in fiction, and this is no exception. Shoko is always trying to help Yuji, Gojo, and others with their medical and curse needs. Jujutsu Tech knows who to call when one of their students is severely cursed.
2Kasumi Miwa Is a Swordswoman After Gojo’s Heart
Grade 3
First Appearance
Episode 8, “Boring”
JPN VA
Chinatsu Akasaki
ENG VA
Allegra Clark
Kasumi is a second-year student at Kyoto’s Jujutsu Tech and is usually found by Yoshinobu Gakuganji’s side. She comes from a poor family and thinks that being a Jujutsu Sorcerer is the best way for her to earn a living.
Kasumi is a kind girl, as proven by her reluctance to hunt down Yuji Itadori. Along with her kindness, Kasumi’s fangirl tendencies over sorcerers like Gojo make her seem adorable. Between her charming personality and adept skills with a sword, Kasumi Miwa is a wonderful and likable character.
1Nobara Kugisaki Is Crunchyroll’s Own Best Girl
Grade 3
First Appearance
Episode 2, “For Myself”
JPN VA
Asami Seto
ENG VA
Anne Yatco
Nobara is the main female character in Jujutsu Kaisen. Nobara is a certified badass with her hammer and curse dolls. She takes pride in both her appearance and her fighting ability. She told Momo to sit down and shut up during their fight in an awesome moment. While fans had to witness her probable death in her fight against Mahito, that doesn’t take away from how important she has been to the series and fans.
Nobara is usually one of the higher-ranked female characters and even won the “Best Girl” award at the 2022 Crunchyroll Awards. These accolades do not go unwarranted as she is one of the best characters in the show as well as a tough fighter. There’s no doubt that Nobara is deserving of the top spot on this list.
