The Real REASON Why Whitebeard Did Not AVENGE Oden

It’s hard to imagine what a battle between the two Four Emperors would be like.

Ace’s death is probably still a big obsession for many One Piece fans. But that historic battle also witnessed an equally great death of Whitebeard. It can be said that the “godfather” accepted death to avenge his “favorite son”.

He does not hesitate to fight a “death match” with the World Government to rescue Ace. So why didn’t Whitebeard drag his whole crew to Wano to avenge Oden? This must be the question of many One Piece fans during the past time.

After relentlessly “pursuing” Whitebeard, Oden was finally allowed to join the pirate crew and became the 2nd Division Commander. Although Oden later decided to adventure with Roger and never return, the sworn brotherhood between the two was never broken.

The truth is that Wano was isolated from the rest of the world, so Whitebeard only learned about Oden’s death several years after it happened. Of course, at that time Marco and the others really wanted to avenge Oden but couldn’t.

As a Yonko, Whitebeard had many things to sacrifice. It could be the entire pirate crew, whom he considered family, or the innocent people caught up in the war.

Whitebeard understood that entering Wano would be a dangerous challenge and that the two Yonko facing each other would be a disaster.

The outcome of that war will not be beneficial to anyone. Casualties were not limited to both warring sides, but also to Wano’s civilians. Therefore, Whitebeard felt revenge was not worth risking the lives of his people and the people of Wano, whom Oden fought so hard to protect.
