Toei Animation steals an epic Sanji moment from One Piece episode 1105.

SUMMARY

The rivalry between Zoro and Sanji has long been one of the most contentious issues among One Piece fans.
However, this time, Sanji fans have targeted Toei Animation, accusing them of distorting a sequence from the manga that highlights one of Sanji’s moments.
They took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their disappointment with Toei Animation for undermining Sanji.

The rivalry between the wings (Zoro and Sanji) of the future Pirate King, Monkey D. Luffy, has always been one of the most heated discussions among One Piece fans. While one-half of the fandom is always rooting for Zoro and his achievements, the other half is always pointing out the injustice that has been done to the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates.

However, this time the Sanji fans have targeted Toei Animation, the production studio that animates the One Piece anime series, and called them out for butchering a specific scene from the manga that highlights one of Sanji’s moments. The scene takes place during their fight against the Seraphims, and fans are not happy with it.

They took to X(Formerly Twitter) to express their disappointment in Toei Animation for undermining Sanji. This is not the first time Sanji has been ignored by the anime series, and it makes him look bad in terms of his rivalry with the Swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates.

Toei Animation Removes Epic Sanji Moment From One Piece Episode 1105

One Piece Episode 1105 focused on a lot of things that were pretty interesting. The episode showed Stussy’s betrayal of the CP0 members. It also showed Zoro’s epic fighting against S-Hawk, and finally, the Seraphim once again becoming the allies of Dr. Vegapunk’s satellites and the Straw Hat Pirates.

However, there was one moment that the One Piece anime failed to adapt correctly. The moment involved Sanji saving Vegapunk’s satellite number 3, Edison. When Edison tries to give a command to the Seraphims, S-Shark fires a beam toward Edison and Lilith. While Lilith is saved by Franky, Edison is saved by Sanji, as they arrive just in time.

Although the scenes in the anime and manga look similar, in the One Piece manga, Sanji saves Edison before the beam hits him and he then lands next to Zoro. However, in the anime, the scene is depicted a little differently, and it undermines Sanji’s moment where he saves Edison thus making it look unfair.

One Piece Fans Call Out Toei Animation For Being Biased Towards Zoro

As soon as One Piece episode 1105 was released on May 18, 2024, Sanji fans were quick to figure out the mistake made by Toei Animation on Sanji’s part. They went on to X to rant out their disappointment with the production studio.

Toei has also been targeted previously for undermining Sanji and being biased towards Roronoa Zoro.

Fans claimed that Toei has some kind of personal vendetta with Sanji, and they are basically Zoro fans at this point because they never miss highlighting a Zoro moment in the anime.

Although it may look like Sanji has been undermined in the latest One Piece anime episode, Toei has a habit of modifying some scenes from the manga to make them look better in the anime series and while this may affect the image of a character, it never changes the story or strays away from the original plotline. Zoro and Sanji’s rivalry has been going on since the beginning and it may not stop any time soon.
